Every child deserves the chance to thrive—even when facing big emotional, social, or behavioral challenges.

Program Details

Lynwood Hall is an 8-bed*, home-like treatment program for children aged 6-13**, offering specialized care, structure, and hope during challenging times.

  • Our program takes a phased approach towards healing.

Lynwood Hall has twelve (12) beds in total.

Eight (8) beds are used to accommodate four (4) children (ages 6-13) in each of the first two phases of the Lynwood Hall program.

Three (3) beds are used for the Flamborough Step-Up Step Down Program (ages 12-14).

There is also one (1) bed designated to provide respite care for children involved in other programs.

    Phase 1 (First 3 Months):

    • Intensive on-site treatment 5–7 days/week

    • Individual, group, and family therapy

    • School support (either at their home school or our on-site classroom)

    Phase 2 (Next 3 Months):

    • Blended care with on-site treatment + home visits by a Social Worker

    • Continued parent/caregiver support groups

    • Smooth transition planning from day one

    Respite Care:

    • Short-term stays available for kids in other programs needing a break

  • An individualized treatment plan is developed according to each child’s situation, circumstances, their developmental stage, and their individual needs.

Parents and guardians, are considered a vital part of the treatment team and will be asked to attend regular meetings with a Social Worker and work closely with the professional Child and Youth Work staff.

The discharge plan will be clearly laid out from the beginning of each child’s stay.

  • We will support children attending their current school placement, or will work with them to explore other school options, if that is a goal.

Children in residence may also be referred to Compass e (the on-site Elementary School Program).

  • The program is staffed by professional Child and Youth Workers and one Social Worker.

Additionally, there are two full-time night workers who monitor the children during the night.

  • The team can call on an array of clinical resources, including a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, Occupational Therapist, FASD consultant, Clinical Assessments and Measures, and Complex Needs consultant.

Who We Help

  • Children whose emotional or behavioral struggles need more support than outpatient care can provide and make home life unsafe or unstable.

  • Families looking for structured treatment while keeping kids connected to home and school.

  • Kids who would benefit from a therapeutic environment with expert guidance.

Why Families Choose Lynwood Hall

  • Family-Focused Healing: Parents and caregivers are key partners in treatment and progress.

  • Therapeutic Environment: A balance of structure + support, with 24/7 care ensuring safety and stability.

  • Personalized Care: Each child gets an individual treatment plan (including crisis management, school support, and family counselling).

  • Clinical Expertise: On-site Social Workers, Child and Youth Workers, and mental health specialists.

  • School Integration: We help children stay connected to education—whether in their community school or alternative programs.

Healing isn’t about ‘fixing’ kids—it’s about giving them the space and support to grow into their best selves.

Our ultimate goal? To empower each child with the skills, confidence and support they need to thrive—whether that means returning home with new coping tools, or stepping down to less intensive care with newfound resilience. At Lynwood Hall, we don’t just manage symptoms—we help children and their families rebuild their foundation for a brighter future.
