Healing and hope for Immigrant and Refugee Families.
Starting over in a new country takes courage—but no one should have to heal from trauma alone.
We’re here to close the gaps in care and ensure everyone gets the support they deserve—in a way that honors their culture, language, and unique journey.
About the Program
Who We Help
The OASIS Program at Lynwood Charlton Centre provides specialized mental health care for immigrant and refugee children, youth, and families in Hamilton.
Many people who claim refugee status in Canada have experienced war, violence, torture or other kinds of trauma. This exposure to adversity tends to lead to mental health conditions such as:
Depression and anxiety
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
Alienation and loneliness
Suicide and psychoses
How We Help
Whether it’s the experiences of facing war, displacement, or the stress of resettlement, we offer a safe, culturally affirming space to heal and grow. Our team provides:
One-on-one therapy for trauma, anxiety, emotional healing and more.
Culturally adapted tools to help families thrive in their new community.
Resources and education to build resilience and well-being.
A trusting, judgement-free space where families feel safe and understood.
Every family deserves to feel seen, supported, and strong.
We’re here to make that possible. Together, we’ll navigate the path toward hope, connection, and brighter days ahead.
“No one chooses to be a refugee. We all deserve to have a home and to be safe.”
