ORGANIZATION
Lynwood Charlton Centre (LCC) is a publicly funded charitable organization accredited by the Canadian Centre for Accreditation. Based in the City of Hamilton, LCC serves in a dual role as both a Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH) Core Service Provider and the designated CYMH Lead Agency for Hamilton. In this leadership role, LCC works collaboratively with Hamilton’s seven Core Service Providers, educators, healthcare professionals, child welfare organizations, and community partners to strengthen the local mental health system.
As Lead Agency, LCC partners with youth, families, planning bodies, and service providers to support the delivery of accessible, consistent, and high-quality mental health services for children and youth. Through a continuum of live-in, in-home, school-based, and community programs, LCC helps children and youth build resilience, heal from adversity, and realize their strengths.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Director of Clinical Services is a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, accountable for overseeing clinical operations at Lynwood Charlton Centre (LCC). This role is responsible for clinical leadership, strategic planning, and policy development to support high-quality service delivery.
The Director of Clinical Services provides direction and operational oversight to a multidisciplinary team of program managers and clinicians, fostering collaboration across organizational systems and community partners to advance service delivery objectives within Hamilton. Work is carried out in close partnership with youth and families, LCC staff and leadership teams, Core Service Providers, and other community partners.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Program Operations & System Planning, the Director of Clinical Services collaborates closely with the senior leadership team to advance LCC’s mission and vision. The successful candidate is an experienced clinical leader with strong strategic capability and a collaborative approach, able to support excellence across all clinical programs and services.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership:
Provide strategic direction and operational guidance to all clinical programs and services at Lynwood Charlton Centre (LCC) including overseeing relevant clinical research initiatives.
Ensure the delivery of high-quality care and outcomes and facilitate the integration and coordination of excellent client care.
Provide clinical direction and support related to evidence-informed practice and measurement-based care.
Provide effective leadership for clinical practice and professional ethics throughout all LCC programs.
Promote inter-professional collaboration and decision-making.
Provide guidance and direction to staff with respect to clinical policies and procedures and applicable standards, legislation, regulations, and guidelines.
Work cooperatively and collaboratively to optimize the effectiveness and efficiency of existing clinical services and align people, work, and systems with the strategic plan.
Provide clinical consultation services for complex cases through LCC’s Clinical Consultation Pathway.
Contribute to the hiring, training, and evaluation of staff and/or ensure all services within the scope of assigned responsibilities are appropriately staffed within approved budgets and service plans.
Represent LCC at community tables and committees (e.g. Hamilton CARES, YCSN, VTRA, etc.).
Demonstrate integrity and ethical leadership and represent the organization in a professional manner at all times.
Contribute to Social Worker/OT/BCBA annual performance appraisals in collaboration with Program Managers.
Participate as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
Strategy, Planning & Implementation
Ensure that clinical programs are aligned with identified client needs and respond to the diverse community LCC serves through the establishment of strong, collaborative relationships and identified EDI frameworks.
Work collaboratively to optimize clinical service delivery by aligning people, work, and systems with organizational priorities.
Work collaboratively with the Director of Quality, Evaluation & Compliance in the development and implementation of quality improvement and program evaluation strategies designed to foster ongoing learning and improvement across clinical programs.
Provide leadership to program development and enhancement and the integration of all clinical services.
Use information on client needs and program outcomes to plan and direct changes in service delivery.
Program Operations & Administration
Oversee and provide regular clinical supervision to Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, and Board-Certified Behaviour Analysts in conjunction with Directors and Program Managers.
Provide clinical consultation to Program Managers, teams and program staff, as accessed through the Clinical Consultation Pathway.
Chair LCC’s Clinical Community of Practice.
Identify, develop, implement, and support professional training and development programs to enhance knowledge and skill development of staff.
Drive program development, enhancement and the integration of all clinical services.
Attend program team meetings as necessary/required, providing clinical direction to more complex and challenging clients.
Represent and promote clinical services, programs and issues with external sponsors, community partners and government.
Maintain up-to-date contemporaneous clinical consultation notes in client EHR’s.
Engage in regular supervision.
Provide after hours administrative support on a rotational basis to ensure uninterrupted service to clients.
Participate in all mandatory agency and program training and in-service processes.
Assume responsibility for their own professional development, including keeping up to date with new developments in the field and acquiring new skills to best serve the children/youth and families within the organization.

Organization, Written, and Professionalism Skills:
Prioritize duties and tasks and utilize computer software to schedule work/appointments.

Utilize computer databases, forms and templates to document consultation service interactions and service reporting.
Complete all documentation in an organized, logical, easily understood, concise manner, that is suitable to the audience.
Demonstrate personal and professional boundaries and maintain the privacy and confidentiality of staff and client information.
Employ an ethical framework as prescribed by policy and procedures.
Represent the LCC both internally and externally reflecting agency values and core principles.
EDUCATION
Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychotherapy, Psychology or other regulated Health Professional Field with active membership in the appropriate regulatory body (Doctorate degree preferred).
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
10+ years of wide-ranging clinical experience and demonstrated knowledge of client-centered programs and services.
Minimum of five years leadership experience including supervision and program management.
Minimum of two years senior leadership experience including strategy development, program evaluation and clinical governance development.
Strong knowledge of children and youth mental health sector and the related legislation.
Demonstrated ability to build cultural competence in clinical services and promote equitable and inclusive practices across the organization.
Experience working with children/youth in a live-in treatment setting.
Extensive experience collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to set and achieve common goals.
Experience with navigating and/or collaborating with other community systems.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The Director of Clinical Services reports to the Senior Director of Program Operations & System Planning and will be required to work in the office at 526 Upper Paradise Rd in Hamilton, Ontario as well as attending some of LCC’s other clinical locations. The Director of Clinical Services will also lead and support teams whose clinical operations extend outside of regular business hours.
This position is an existing vacancy.
Salary: $120,000
