Activities that cultivate kindness.

Whether you are in a classroom, school, team, group, program or family - these are some easy, fun and effective activities to promote kindness and help hope grow.

“Be You” Affirmation Station

  • The "Be You" Affirmation Station activity is designed to address that bullying often stems from internalized negativity, insecurity, and a lack of empathy. This activity directly targets the root of bullying by promoting self-love.

    • Affirmation Poster (PDF)

    • Affirmation Cards (PDFs)

    • Coloured print paper

    • Scissors / Paper cutter

    • Masking tape

  • Positive affirmation statements on colorful paper are arranged around the borders of mirrors in the bathrooms. Phrases such as “I am loved” and “I am brave” will create a frame of positive self-talk.

The deliberate placement ensures that when an individual looks at their own reflection, they literally see themselves surrounded by these empowering messages, integrating a moment of personal affirmation into their daily routine.

    • Print off Poster using the PINK coloured print paper

    • Print off each affirmation sheet in a different colour print paper

    • Cut affirmations into individual cards

    • Tape poster to wall beside/on top of mirror

    • Tape affirmation cards to the border of the mirror

“Be Positive ” Pegs

  • The "Be Positive” Pegs activity offers an engaging, hands-on way for children and youth to practice and spread kindness in a tangible, interactive way.

    • Wooden Clothespins

    • Paint and/or Markers

    • Glue

    • Craft supplies like pom-poms, beads, etc., to decorate

  • Inspired by the Crayola craft, this activity involves decorating wooden clothespins with positive messages, colours, and designs.

Children/youth decorate these pins with affirmations and positive words. The core interactive element follows: children and youth will then "pin" these positive messages onto each other's clothing—on a collar, sleeve, or backpack strap—as a spontaneous, shared act of recognition and encouragement.

    • Give each child/youth 4-6 coloured clothespins and access to craft supplies

    • Children/youth add compliments, positive words, or affirmations to their clothespins

    • Once created, children/youth are encouraged to “pin” others

“Be Loud” Ally Gallery

  • The "Be Loud" Ally Gallery activity provides a powerful platform for children and youth to move from internal reflection to public advocacy, transforming personal commitment into a public declaration against bullying.

    • Poster Boards

    • Paint, Crayons and/or Markers

  • Children and youth are invited to create their own original anti-bullying posters featuring their personal messages, artwork, or slogans.

These posters are then displayed in a dedicated public space (a hallway or entrance wall) to form an Ally Gallery where these images of advocacy are shared with others.

    • Each child/youth receives a poster board and access to paint, crayons and / or markers

    • Children/youth create their own anti-bullying posters

    • Posters can then be hung on the walls to form an Ally Gallery
